Common use

Sorbitrate tablets is used to prevent angina (chest pain) caused by coronary artery disease. It works by relaxing blood vessels, improving blood flow, and reducing the heart's workload. It can also be used in severe acute or chronic congestive cardiac failure. By improving blood flow, it helps relieve symptoms such as breathlessness, tiredness, and swelling in various parts of the body.

Dosage and direction

Take Sorbitrate tablets on an empty stomach. Take it at the same time every day. Follow the dose and frequency prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop taking the medicine suddenly, as it may increase the risk of an angina attack.

Precautions

If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, it's important to talk to your doctor before using Sorbitrate. They will evaluate the potential benefits and risks for you and your baby. If you are breastfeeding, consult your doctor before using Sorbitrate.
Sorbitrate tablets may interact with certain diseases and conditions. It is important to inform your doctor if you have any of the following: Hypotension (low blood pressure); Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy; Anaemia; Glaucoma; Severe liver disease.

Contraindications

Sorbitrate is contraindicated for patients with known hypersensitivity to the Isosorbide Dinitrate or to any other nitrates. It should not be used by individuals with severe anemia, recent head trauma or cerebral hemorrhage, and severe hypotension.

Possible side effect

Sorbitrate tablets may cause some side effects. Here are a few common side effects: Headache; Nausea; Weakness or tiredness; Flushing; Lightheadedness (You may feel dizzy or lightheaded).

Drug interaction

Erectile dysfunction medications: Sildenafil (Viagra), Tadalafil (Cialis). Blood pressure-lowering medications: Amlodipine, Metoprolol. Nitroglycerin-containing medications: Nitro-Dur, Nitrostat. Medications for depression: Fluoxetine, Paroxetine.

Missed dose

If you forget to take Sorbitrate as instructed, take it as soon as you remember. If it's almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and resume your regular dosage schedule. Never increase your dosage without consulting your doctor.

Overdose

Taking too much Sorbitrate can cause serious side effects such as severe headaches and low blood pressure. If you or someone else accidentally takes too much, seek immediate medical attention. Contact your doctor or go to a nearby hospital.

Storage

Store Sorbitrate tablets in a cool and dry place. Protect the medicine from light and moisture. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets. Make sure to use the product before its expiry date.
